Having been unable to play a guitar, I did learn in adolescence to play a range of folksy tunes on harmonicas. In more recent years, I have enjoyed plinking out by ear, the same tunes on an electronic keyboard. As a listener, my interest in new music has sadly withered over the last few decades. Like many old folks, my musical tastes have almost fossilized: typically, much of my favourite music remains that which I first listened to in adolescence.
I have sometimes recorded responses to songs and musicians in journal entries through the years.
